Julian Monatzeder is a German based fictional and documentary filmmaker experienced in international productions. He worked on films in Japan, Vietnam, Peru, Germany and Australia, where he completed his "Masters in Directing" at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne in 2014 with his graduating film The Blessed Line, set in the Australian gold rush of the 1850s. His films have screened in various festivals around the world, among them Palm Springs and the Shnit International Film Festival in Switzerland. His documentary Daniela und Miche ‐ Zwei Kinder aus Peru about a charity project of the Bavarian Teacher's Association (BLLV), is shown in primary and secondary classes around Bavaria. Julian holds another Masters degree in Theatre Studies, Social Anthropology and Literature from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. His latest film Erinnern, a documentary about the holocaust which was shot in Munich, Poland and Lithuania, is currently in postproduction.
